Dream meaning: chasing and catching a green and teal rattlesnake?
I just recently had a dream that I was living back at home with my family. I was helping my father with yard work and I saw a green and teal rattlesnake, though it did not look like a typical rattlesnake. The snake slithered around casually and made no attempts of attack. However, I felt compelled to capture it. My father, my sister, and one of my bosses that I have never spoken to collected supplies and we went out to catch the rattlesnake. My sister and my boss went down a hill and nearly stepped on it, but it ran away from them and came directly toward me. It loosely wrapped around my feet, kind of in a figure eight…my tools to catch it were two brooms. Just as he went to strike I placed a broom on his neck, causing his fangs to be just out of reach of my leg. I slid the broom up to the base of his neg and he submitted without struggle. Immediately after looking into his eyes and feeling the rush of adrenaline, yet peace…I woke up.

Thank you all for your insight in advance.

Dreams are the result of sense stimuli being interpreted by your unconscious mind as you sleep. All this dream says to me is your feet were caught in your blankets as you were sleeping.

She obeys the bizarre instructions, including getting and learning to use a gun and downloading a secret file (after which her work post starts totally deleting), dumping both in a dumpster and waiting nearby, only to witness the company’s CEO Churnings being shot by a sniper using an identical weapon. Michael is released, but the pair is now wanted for the murder and both are abducted by armed men, who bring them to a ranch. There they are welcomed by Michael’s father, David Doe, who discloses to be an agent of the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA), and so is Michael, who used her clearance as the whole thing is a sting for the kidnapping and murder’s brain, Avery, so he will sell the enemy false data. Alas David’s DIA-partner Kurt Simmons and their boss Phelps have a dirty agenda…

Did I do the right thing calling the cops on 19 year old having sex with my 14 year old?
My 15 year old child tried to commit suicide and I had to admit her into the hospital for two weeks. During this time I discovered it was due to her derogatory treatment of a 20 year old male. Tried to contact his parents and initially they believed their son and did not show up for our scheduled meeting. His mom then called me an hour later and was appalled by the entire story. I had already called the police and now I feel I should have waited. Did I make the right decision?

The incident happened when she was 14 and he was 19. Now she is 15 and he is 20. When I got home and looked at his facebook he was blasting her all over it calling her a whore and degrading her with another female. Stating "why did "jane doe’s mom just call my parents trying to having a parent to parent talk, get over it, that was last year, I have moved on…LOL".

You did the right thing. However, depending on your state, may determine if he is up for statutory rape or not. ost states a 14 year old would be underage and be what might be called "jail bait". However, some states have an exception for a parter who is 3 or 4 maybe 5 years difference and in that case, if he fits the exception, then he isn’t guilty of statutory rape.

However, if law is for 3 or 3 years and he was 19 and she 14, that is 5 years and that pushes it a bit so it really is determined by your state. For statutory rape he can go to jail and he can be labeled a sexual pervert or sexual offender and must register and not live near a school or place where children congregate. It can be a serious issue to him. But obviously it was a serious issue to her as well and she is not responsible as he is. The law was made to protect children, usually young women. They can be pressured into sex by older guys. But sometimes is may be a boy who is pressured. I don’t know what other treatment she was subject to. You said it as though she treated him derogatory, but I think you meant the opposite.

Perhaps this other mom called back when the police called her. He obviously said some terrible things about her and he may be guilty of libel as well. You need to copy off the things on facebook and take them to the police as well. That is not criminal but shows his insensitivity and unrepentant behavior. You could sue him for libel, though he doesn’t have anything to get to remedy this.

He will find that he has not moved on or has moved on to prison if your state puts this down as statutory rape. Same penalty as rape. Plus the pedofile designation. This adult male deserves whatever penalty he gets. He should not have molested a 14 year old child. he was way too old for her and should have known better.

You made the right decision. You had more control than most of us would have had. Some dad’s might have wanted to blow him away. Your daughter trying to commit suicide should show you how devastating this really is. A young girl isn’t emotionally prepared for a relationship like that where she loses her innocence to a callous adult.

Good luck to you and your daughter.

 sweet.caroline | Mar 09, 2010

I think you brought a lot more drama to your kid’s life. I remember, when I was 15, I was pretty much sucidal because of my boyfriend who was bashing me like that all the time, that I had lost my virginity to. I don’t know what to tell you, because I’m not a mother, but you should pay a lot more attention to your daughter and how to help her than how to get back at the boyfriend.
Great Job! | Mar 09, 2010

She tried to commit suicide because she was being trashed by an adult man who had already molested her as a child. Damn right you did the right thing in calling the police. Depending on your State he is likely facing serious prison time - to which I say "Good".

Print out all those facebook pages to make sure the cops see that he has no remorse.

 rickinnocal | Mar 09, 2010

It’s called statutory rape. The 19 year old is lucky. He could go to jail for years if convicted. I think, based on his facebook statements, you should press charges. Of course, talk to your daughter, but if he’s going that far, then you know what you have to do.

fish with wierd eye?????
iv had a silver dollar fish 4 bout 6 months now and ever since i got him 1 of his eyes looks silver and bigger than the other and i dont think he can see out of that eye he eats and plays w the other silver dollars and is otherwise a very healthy fish so i was just wondering wat could be wrong w his eye its not popeye i know that

If it’s been like that since you got him, it’s probably a birth defect of some sort. Plenty of fish get on just fine with one working eye - or none at all; I’ve seen some blind fish do fine.
Jump ahead a few months to the days before Oscar nominees are announced: just the possibility of a nomination has changed the actors’ lives. Agents, publicists, make-up artists, local celebrity reporters, and other bit players round out the backstage ensemble. Hooray for Hollywood!

What is happening to the America I once knew?
I noticed people in America are becoming more and more selfish. They go after whatever they want with no consideration who suffers for it. I’ve noticed this growing trend with many famous people in the news. In my own personal opinion the biggest jerk in the country right now is the Weatherman. He always wants it to be rainy and cold and I’m tired of it. Why can’t he make it sunny for us, since that’s what most of us want? Every morning he dictates what the weather is with no regards what other people want. I think he works for Faux news because no one can be that evil except someone from Faux news. Keith Olbermann today said that the Rethuglicans are trying to control the weather to make the noble Al Gore look bad. In other news I heard that Bobby Jindal kicked a dog and Rush Limbaugh said that Mexicans should die. Were is this country going?

Too poor to move out on my own, too old to stay with my parents?
I am twenty years old and a junior in college. Because of a medical issue I can’t work full-time but I do go to school full-time. I never went away to college and now I am seriously regretting it because my parents are driving me crazy.

Everytime I leave the house, even if it is just to get gas they want to know where I am going, how long I will be and who I am going with. I understand they want me to be safe but for the love of God, I am twenty and I don’t drink or do drugs or party and they know it.

My parents never go food shopping so whenever I go to the store and get myself a bag of chips or a drink or something they eat/drink all of it before I ever get a chance and they don’t replace it! I started hiding my food in my room and guess what, they open my door when I am not (without my permission) go in my room, watch my TV, eat my food and who knows what else they do in there. I know this because my door is always left open and I always close it before I leave.

Everytime I get home my mom is asking me to do a laundry list of things for her: takes your brother to the video store, go get my medicine for me, massage my neck, go find my glasses, empty the dishwasher, answer the phone, do this, do that. One day she even asked me to stay home from my college courses to help her with her job.

My parents are not old or uncapable of doing things on their own and yet I end up doing everything in the house. My dad also seems to hate my guts and calls me stupid all the time when I am nothing but nice to him. Every night I come home and ask him how his day was and he doens’t even turn around from his desk to say hello to me. My brother is 13 and in his rude teenager phase.

Whenever my boyfriend comes over we can never get alone time because my brother is always all over him. I am at my ropes end.

What do you do when you’re too poor to move out but too old to want to stay?
Saying that I should not bring food home with me is crazy. What am I supposed to do- starve? As for the bringing an extra package of everything I buy- I can’t afford that even if I did bring 2 of everything, they would eat both. What I meant by "god knows what else they’re doing" is that they could be snooping when I have nothing to hide. I go to school full time and work part time my medical problems restrict me from doing both full time. They make me do some much work they even call me "Esmeralda" which is my fake houskeeper name, it is degrading.

You find a room mate, or room mates. My sister is almost 21, and I’m 18. This summer, the two of us and our boyfriends are going to move into an apartment together and split the rent four ways. It sounds like you’re basically paying everything but rent anyway, so this could work for you. Just make sure to find an apartment with amenities included, and hopefully one that comes furnished.

20 isn’t too old. I’m 21 and still live at home. I work full time but I’m not in any rush to move out just yet. I’m happy where I am, I pay board money (which is like rent) and get my meals cooked for me.

Why not stay home till you’re done with school/college? It’ll be one less thing to worry about while you focus on your studies. Or until you’re dating someone for a year or so who you can get a place with?

If you’re low income, you can apply for HUD, which is low income housing. It takes awhile but once you get it, it’s worth it. There’s also low-income housing that you don’t have to get HUD to get into. You might want to get a roommate to defray the cost of the rent and utilities. Do you have a friend who you get along with well? Would they be willing to share an apartment with you? You could even get several roommates if the place is big enough, but get people you trust or it will be like your parents all over again. For the time being, you could have a padlock installed on your door where only you have the key, so they can’t get in. If you’ve talked to them and they don’t respect your privacy, then the lock is your last resort. If they ask why, tell them you want your privacy. You are an adult and your room is your property, not theirs. They don’t have any right to object if you’re not doing drugs or something like that in there. I wish you the best!
Your father is being a bully by calling you those names. Let him know that it’s hurtful and that if he continues to do it, you will leave the room. Then do it. Be aware that you are living at home rent free. You also need to ask your parents to please respect your privacy and not go into your room. Next time you go to the store, ask everyone if they’d like you to pick up something for them. It’s considerate. Stop bringing your things home for them to eat it. Eat it before you get gone. Parents are parents out of habit, no matter how old you are. The only way to end this is to move out. If you can’t work full time because of medical issues, you may be eligible for disability benefits. Bring your bf elsewhere if you want privacy. Your brother’s behavior is typical of younger siblings. This is the kind of situation that should inspire you to figure out a way to live on your own. SOme people hire live in help in exchange for room and board. Good luck.
I am a mother so I can see this from both sides I suppose. I also know that this is your side to the story and I can certainly feel for you. In reading your question, I do take into account that there are three sides to every story: Your Side, Their Side and the Truth…the truth always lies somewhere in the middle.
Even though that is there house and they do have the right to expect certain things of you since you are living there…I am assuming you do not pay rent… and you have an obligation to help out…I can see some of the things you are saying may be a little much. As for your mother expecting you to miss school to help her, that would fall in the "too much" category.
One of the things you said sort of left me with a question however. You said a medical condition stops you from working "full time." Do you work part time? And what happens when you graduate? Will you be able to work full time once you have a degree? All of that would make a difference in the way your family is reacting to you and your pursuits.
As far as "reporting" to them when you go out: It is common courtesy to let people you love know where you are going and when you will be returning. Perhaps if you offered the information they would not seem to interrogate you. I know when I leave the house alone I tell my husband where I am going and when he can expect me back. That is simply a common courtesy since we do love each other, worry about one another and live in the same house. What we do does have an affect on those who live with us. For instance, the time you return may well dictate family plans for the evening. Perhaps they would like to know whether you p[lan to eat at home or not, etc. They also have the right to expect you to be in the house by a certain time when you are under their roof. That, again, is a common courtesy. Even though they may know you do not do drugs or drink, their concern is most likely for what other people may do to you. They care for you and are concerned. You should appreciate that. Too many parents do not know where their children are. And you may be 20 years old, but you are still their child.
As for them going in your room, the comment you made about "who knows what else they do" is a little much. You do have a right to expect some privacy, but that is something you can discuss with them. As for buying foods and hiding them in your room, I have never liked to hear that people do that. I can tell you, if I had a boarder in my house and they were taking food into their bedroom, I would not be happy. My children knew better at any age. And when I had one or the other at home with me when they were older, they did abide by my rules. I am not going to say they did not complain. They did not complain to me and they never seemed to mind abiding by my rules. In fact, both of my children seem to have adopted many of the rules I set for them in their own homes. If you want to purchase snack foods for yourself only, you may want to buy, for instance, two bags of chips. One for the family (yes you do owe them…you live there) and one for yourself that you keep in a cabinet in the kitchen. Perhaps they might not be so offended if you were more open and actually talked to them and told them that you bought the chips for yourself for a snack after studying or something. I would have accepted that from one of my children and would have actually helped to insure the snack was there when she/he wanted it.
As for your brother, he is at a difficult age and he may well be the one getting in your stuff. You should be hoping to set a good example for him instead of complaining about the rules. The fact is, your parents are doing you a huge favor by allowing you to continue to live there. You are not working so cannot be contributing a lot to the household. You should expect to offer as much help to them as possible, regardless of their health. They are supporting you when, by your own admission, you cannot afford to move out.
You do make some valid points, but those are issues that you should discuss with your parents, lovingly and respectfully. Bottom line is this is their house and their rules apply. You may be 20 years old but your parents are supporting you. You do not get the benefits of being independent until you are independent. If you want those benefits, find yourself a part time job and a room mate. My bet would be, however, if you have a roommate you will quickly learn to appreciate your parents more.
Also, with regard to your father and his attitude toward you. I do not know what the dynamics are there, but that is another issue that you should sit down and talk with him about, and your mother as well. Maybe they have some beefs about the way you do things. They might be jut as upset with you as you seem to be with them and your father is just not good at hiding his feelings. perhaps you should all sit down and talk things through. It is also possible that your father senses the way that you feel and it upsets him. TALK ABOUT IT with your family.
Good Luck and I wish you well with your education. Do try and see things more from your parents side of this and you may not feel so unhappy with your situation. I do not doubt that you are probably a wonderful person, but it is always difficult once you reach a certain age and want and need your independence…but are still at home with Mom and Dad.

How does this sound sound for the beginning of my book?
The seat-belt lights came on. Is the flight already over? I buckled up and the oxygen masks came down. I was scared completely out of my mind, and so was the girl next to me. Fumbling with it, I eventually put my mask on. My heart was racing, I was panicking. I could tell we were loosing altitude and pressure. The plane lurched forward and I closed my eyes when I remembered that we were over an ocean. I always hated those things. The captains voice came over the intercom and told us what was going on. The right wing failed and we were going down. Then, I fainted due to my panic attack.
I woke up to the sound of the ocean’s waves swishing. Was I really still alive? Appearantly. My heart was still racing. Maybe someone else was alive, too. I sat up and looked at my watch, which was the only thing I had left. It said 5:09 a.m. It was six o’clock in the morning when the crash had occurred. Twenty-three hours and nine minutes ago.
I looked around me, but all I saw was smoke and fire. I tried to raise myself up ,but because of all my pain, I couldn’t. I sat there, trembeling in shock for what seemed like 10 minutes. The smoke had finally cleared and I gasped at what I saw. There was grousome, bloody dead bodies everywhere. I turned towards the ocean and vomited. I had no idea where I was. An island maybe? I had no idea how I got there either. I searched through the wreckage and found nothing amongst it useful. I turned the other way. There was nothing but trees, trees, and more trees. I hoped there was a village in there somewhere.
I proceeded towards them, but spotted something out of the corner of my eye. I pivoted to my right, to find a middle aged woman staring straight at my with her glistening eyes. There was nothing familliar about her and she born no signs of just having been in a crash. I could have sworn she wasn’t on the flight due to my impecable memory for faces. Then, she said two words.
"Hello, Rose."
Here’s the introduction…. it might explain a bit more…

What if you had powers you didn’t know about? What if you thought you were normal, but weren’t? Welcome to Rose Pindsa’s world. Realizing she is something different than she thought she was and having powers were just the beginning of her problems. It was summer, and her dad was sending her to her moms. On her way, things go wrong and she finds herself on an island off the southeast coast of the United States with no shelter, all alone, scratched up and bruised, but still alive.

That’s why she is still alive.

The ‘it goes by way to fast’ is my way of starting it off. It slows down towards chp. 2

You kind of go through it too fast. Draw it out a bit more. I know passing out is easy enough to give an excuse not to explain the crash, but I digress.

Talk about her feelings. It’s impossible that everyone around her died while she escaped fully capable of walking. There’s also the mental implications. This is one of the downsides of 1st person. Write what goes through her head. Describe the island, the wreckage, everything. However, don’t go overboard.

As for the "wing" failing. That stuff doesn’t just happen, except on tv and the likes.
Too fast, sorry, but you need to explain things a little more and add emotion to it.

x-file fans, last one, should doggett and reyes have gotten a 10th season?
Say, they do away with the ’super soldier’ storyline and turn the show over to doggett and reyes. I think they coud still do these movies with mulder and scully now(I ((want)) to believe there is another coming) , but going back to 2003, should they have given those two a chance?

Truth be told, I think the series probably should’ve ended with season 7’s finale, Requiem, as it was rumored to be originally intended before FOX wanted the extension. Having Mulder and Scully back to the scene of their very first case together was a perfect full-circle moment, and the cliffhanger of Mulder being abducted could have been just the catalyst to launch a successful movie franchise. The highlights of the last two seasons - the search for Mulder, Scully’s pregnancy and the birth of William, the prophecy, the super soldiers, and the 2012 reveal - all could’ve been addressed…and on a bigger scale to do it justice.

However, since this isn’t how things played out, I do think the show should have had just one more season. Doggett and Reyes needed time to develop into their own characters, outside of Mulder and Scully’s shadows. A tenth season could have done this, and if anything, provide closure to them.

Dragging a good show on forever is not a good thing. It’s passed its prime, and needed to make way for new shows. What upsets me about FOX is that any other time they get a great new show they cancel it early.
