Are my managers treating me wrong or am I not doing my job?
Ok well i am 16 years old and i am working at T.J Maxx, and i have been there for 3.5 months. Everything started off fine and lately my bosses have been really bitching me out, and i almost got fired tonight. Like about a week ago i was on the register and a women came up with some children clothes. So i rang up the stuff and while i was doing that one of my managers april came over and grabbed the stuff out of my hand and said to look at the price, it was 14.99 i believe. And she walked over the the childrens department, came back with the same thing and it was 19.99, and found another like that. So the customer switched the tags and tried to steal. And she told me that by now i should know the price of all the merchandise from the store. I dont know but to me that sounds really unreasonable, and she bitched me out and then right behind me her and like two other women were making fun of me saying how i had no idea what i was doing. And on top of that i work in the mens department. And like a day ago i almost got fired and i was screamed at and embarrassed in front of the customers and other employees. And this is why, i was doing a return and she had a clearance item with no receit. And ive been told by cliff(manager), janeva(manager), a few coordinators and employees that have been there long time you cant do that because the markdown doesnt show up in our system and they have to have the receit. So anyway the lady got mad i called the store manager(scott). He came up and he had no idea what was going on and was confused. He ended up returning it and said our policy didnt prohibit clearance items without reciets. And then he totally lost it, he said i could never return again, that i made him look like a fool, that i dont know what im doing, his boss is gonna bitch him out, on and on. And then i was called into the office and bitched out some more. And then he started saying some real wierd shit like we just lost 40 bucks from that transaction, we didnt loose any money and then he started saying i something about how all my store copy reciets always arent there, and ive kept count ive only not had two, and that was in the beginning of the first month. Unless someone else uses my account and uses them, i dont know. But i was totally insulted, it was so disrespectful. And EVERYONE backed me up and was pissed at scott. So tell me what you think.
I think they are being unfair. I would call corporate and ask about thier grievance procedure. That way it was you that reaached out so if they try to fire you your one step ahead…

I worked at retail for a year at Forever21. and now Ralph Lauren so I have some experience. Well just working there for 3.5 months of course you will still have some common mistakes. At forever21 I still don’t remember every single clothing or price because they do have so much merchandise but I managed to memorize half of it. If I were you I would definately call corporate coz what they are doing is very unproffesional and wrong. While your still working there try looking for another job and get some interviews. Only quit if you are 100% sure that you got the job and you already started your first week.
